Night Chew

The Night Chew has arrived!

Night waking is the worst.  Over time, it can start to feel like a repeating nightmare.  You get a few hours of sleep and then suddenly you wake and can’t fall back to sleep. Then you know the fatigue will follow you through the day.  Why is this happening and what can you do to fix it?

First of all, you are not alone.  Common Google searches include: “why do I wake up at 2 a.m.?” and “why do I wake up in the middle of the night?”  Ten years ago, I was one of the people typing these questions, and I have now spoken with hundreds of people who have this same problem.

In the summer of 2022, we started to work with scores of volunteers who needed a solution.

Through trial and error, we found that common sleep supports like l-theanine, magnesium, exogenous glycine, inositol, didn’t always work for this crowd.  These supplements have their place, but they didn’t solve night waking.  In fact, in some cases they increased night waking.

We discovered that many people who suffer from night waking weren’t struggling in the same way to fall asleep.  They were tired by the end of the day.  The common denominator with this crowd was that they were low in GABA.  GABA is the body’s primary calming neurotransmitter. We found numerous research studies on this.  In one study, GABA levels in people with disrupted sleep were almost 30 percent lower than in people without the sleep disorder.

Why did people have low GABA levels?  There can be several reasons: age, hormone levels, stress.  We found out that supplementing worked by activating the GABA receptors in the gut.   And it worked particularly well in conjunction with other therapeutic ingredients that supported GABA uptake and lowered cortisol throughout the night.

Our Night Chew works in a time-released fashion.  You take it an hour or two before bed, and it releases the ingredients that tell your body to stay in rest mode throughout the night.

We’ve tested it with our volunteers for 2 ½ years to get the formula right.

We can’t wait for you to try it!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If I’m taking the Night Chew, do I need to continue to take my daytime collagen chew?

We recommend that you take the Night Chew 3-4 nights a week to maintain its efficacy.  The Night Chew is optimized for sleep, not necessarily for collagen support (though it does provide 4400mg of premium collagen.)  You get a bit more collagen with our day chews (6600mg), plus more Vitamin C, so the different chews can be combined.

If you would prefer to take only one daily chew at a time, take the Night Chew as directed 3-4 days/ week and take our regular chews on your “off” days.

Is the Night Chew contraindicated for some people?

We would not recommend the Night Chew for someone who is pregnant, nursing or anticipating surgery.  Please check with your doctor if you are taking other medication.

Why does the Night chew contain coconut sugar?

The Night Chew contains a ½ tsp. therapeutic dose of coconut sugar which is time released because its encased in gelatin.  The small amount of sugar helps maintain blood sugar levels throughout the night, preventing a rise in cortisol.

How do the fruit powders and concentrates in the Night Chew support sleep?

Tart cherry, blueberry and cranberry all contain nutrients that support the body’s melatonin production.

What are some other practices that support a good night’s sleep?

1. View morning light soon after waking.  Don’t stare at the sun, but let the light connect with your eyeballs.  Morning light activates cells in your retina that tell you that your day has started and helps to reset your biological clock.

2. Avoid blue light from screens before bed or during the middle of the night.  Blue light is a “middle of the day” light that tells our brain to wake up.
